Asthma in Children
Asthma is commonly found in children, although it can also occur in adults. Among children, asthma is a leading cause of hospitalization, chronic disease, and school absenteeism.
Over the recent years, there has been a worldwide increased in the number of children asthma. This trend has been linked with environmental factors, including air pollution.
Children’s airways are narrower than those of adults. This means that in an asthma attack it is often more serious in children. Therefore it is very important that asthma in children must be diagnosed at a early stage and treated correctly. For some children who has asthma, means taking daily medication even during times when the child is not having any symptoms of asthma.
